The Andalusian Institute for Agricultural, Fishing, Food and Ecological Production Research and Training (IFAPA) bases its creation on the desire to respond to the demands of the Andalusian agricultural, fishing, aquaculture and food sectors. It aims to be an agile and effective instrument promoting research, technological innovation and training.

  • DESCRIPTION: IFAPA is an Administrative Agency attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Government of Andalusia. Its objective is to contribute to the modernization of the agricultural, fishing and food sectors, as well as to improve their competitiveness through research, development, technology transfer and training.
  • PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Support the development of agricultural, fishing, food and organic production policies.
    • Plan and implement information and training programs.
    • Design and carry out sector research plans.
    • Serve as a support instrument for the sectors.
    • Promote relationships and coordination in research and technology transfer programs and activities.
    • Contribute to improving the effectiveness of training programs.
    • Promote research, innovation and development.
    • Provide the scientific and technological bases for development.
    • Support the development of the agricultural, fishing and food policies of the Administration of the Junta de Andalucía.
  • FACILITIES: IFAPA has 18 Research and Training Centers linked to the agri-food sector. They add up to a total of 1,318 hectares. of experimental surface.
