The 1st GO PISTABIOTECH Webinar was successfully held.
Last June 25, 2026 took place on 1st Webinar GO PISTABIOTECH: network for biotechnological valorization of pistachio by-products, which brought together More than 50 professionals from the sector to present the objectives and approaches of this Operational Group, focused on the biotechnological valorization of by-products generated during the cultivation and processing of pistachios.
Key topics addressed at the event included the growing pistachio production in Spain and the volume of waste it generates, the need to find solutions with greater added value, and the profitability of the crop at the national level. In this regard, the Collaborative approach between research centers, producers, processors and entities specialized in technology transfer that this innovative project proposes to apply scientific knowledge in the development of new products from these wastes.
Throughout the day, practical experiences from the production and processing sector were presented, along with research advances on the fractionation and utilization of lignocellulosic biomass to obtain high-value compounds.
