BIOVEGEN participates in the Reflection Day on the experiences and challenges of fruit genetic improvement in Chile

BIOVEGEN participated on the 20th in the «Day of Reflection on the experiences and challenges of fruit genetic improvement in Chile», organized by the Chilean consortium Biofrutales with the objective of sharing the experiences and challenges of fruit genetic improvement in Chile.

Biofrutales is a Chilean technological corporation that manages the development of R&D projects with the purpose of generating new and better fruit varieties for Chile and the world. In order to raise awareness in the Chilean R&D&I ecosystem of the importance of fruit genetic improvement, it organized this event, in which international agents from the sector participated. The day began with a welcome from the ministers of agriculture and science of Chile, the vice president of CORFO and the president of Biofrutales. The Spanish Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ICVV-CSIC) and BIOVEGEN showed the plant breeding activities managed by each entity, highlighting the relevance of innovation in the current context.
