BIOVEGEN collaborates with the Supra-autonomous Operational Group PROTEINLEG
BIOVEGEN collaborates with the PROTEINLEG Operational Group, which aims to develop high-quality food proteins through the sustainable production and processing of legume crops. The project will use legumes as a base to obtain new sources of foods rich in plant proteins that are healthy, tasty and attractive. The legume varieties used will be grown in an innovative, cost-effective and resource-efficient way. Furthermore, the project focuses on different varieties of legumes: the most important for human consumption (beans, broad beans and chickpeas) and for animal consumption (lupins, broad beans and peas), with the aim of reducing the dependence of livestock farming on soy in the production of feed.
