Last March, on the occasion of the publication of the first Press Release of the FITONET Project, the Radio of the University of Salamanca conducted an interview with Rosa Morcuende (Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Salamanca, IRNASA-CSIC) aimed at learning more about this Operational Group. The news and the interview conducted can be consulted in the following link: link.

The Irnasa-CSIC in Salamanca is working on the FitoNet project, a social network that promotes plant biodiversity and the development of productive, sustainable plant varieties that are adapted to the conditions of climate change. Today we have talked about this project, promoted and coordinated by the Cellbitec Foundation, which has top-level members, with Rosa María Morcuende, a scientist at Irnasa. She has told us about the contribution from Castilla y León to FitoNet.

FitoNet aims to implement an information transfer system based on a wide network of collections with pre-breeding and improvement plant varieties, increase the genetic diversity of crops and develop a dynamic professional social network, generating experiences that show farmers, to the food sector and society in general the importance of using biodiversity to obtain quality, sustainable and profitable products and crops.
