What is an Operational Group?
An Operational Group (OG) is a group of actors with different profiles, such as farmers, researchers, universities, etc. to be able to jointly address a specific problem or opportunity from a multi-sector approach.
GOCITRUS Operational Group
The identification of citrus fruits is the main basis of varietal management and planning, and constitutes a pressing problem in the citrus industry. The GOCITRUS Operational Group promotes the creation of a varietal authentication unit and the development of a decision support tool for appropriate varietal choice.
Aim
The generation of molecular markers that help in the identification and adequate choice of citrus varieties as the main basis of varietal management and planning and in this way avoid the current problem of the industry. On the other hand, the creation of an App to help decision-making for the producing sector in varietal selection, considering its particular cultivation characteristics and providing objective and adequate information.
