BIOVEGEN report. Call for Science and Innovation Missions 2022

It has just been published Call for MISSIONS SCIENCE AND INNOVATION 2022 with subsidies in the amount of 125 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism for competitive cooperative research projects. The Center for Technological and Industrial Development (CDTI) will finance through this program large business R&D projects aimed at solving relevant challenges of society represented in 6 missions:

1. Strengthen technological capabilities for safe and sustainable energy autonomy (fusion, hydrogen and renewables).
2. Promote Spanish industry in the industrial revolution of the 21st century.
3. Promote a more sustainable agri-food sector adapted to the new conditions associated with climate change thanks to the relevant use of advanced biotechnological tools.
4. Develop application technologies in the naval sector that improve its competitiveness in the 21st century.
5. Promote the replacement, recovery and valorization of mineral resources and strategic materials for the Ecological Transition.
6. Develop and strengthen an integrated photonics ecosystem in Spain.

One of the Thematic Missions included is “Promote a more sustainable agri-food sector adapted to the new conditions associated with climate change thanks to a relevant use of advanced biotechnological tools”Therefore, given the interest that this call has for our sector, at BIOVEGEN we have prepared a report to transmit the most relevant aspects of this program.
