The University of Alicante was founded in 1979. It is a public, dynamic and innovative institution, with international projection and a reference campus. It currently hosts more than 30,000 students. With more than 240 research groups and 18 research institutes, the UA is considered a point of reference for many companies to which it provides R&D&I services. The research developed by the UA scientific community takes shape annually in the development of more than 600 research projects, more than 60 doctorates and nearly 600 scientific articles.

He Research Results Transfer Service – OTRI (STRI) is responsible for all liaison activities with the business community and aims to increase cooperation between the university and companies.

This service, through Business Relations Area, makes available to companies and entrepreneurs a “business information window” on research activities, projects and technologies applicable to the business fabric. The main objective of this area is to put companies in contact with researchers to facilitate the development of R&D&i projects and seek technological solutions to possible business needs.

The UA has a wide range of technologies and knowledge from different areas available to the business sector, including:

  • Agrobiotechnology.
  • Chemical technology.
  • New materials and nanotechnology
  • Waste recovery.
  • ICT and robotics.
  • Health.
  • Environment.
