Regional Institute for Agri-Food and Forestry Research and Development of Castilla-La Mancha (IRAF) focuses on the need to promote research, innovation and development, as well as dissemination and technical advice, in the field of agriculture, livestock, agri-food and forestry industries in order to achieve greater efficiency and productivity in the agri-food sector.

  • DESCRIPTION: Regional Institute for Agri-Food and Forestry Research and Development of Castilla-La Mancha (IRIAF) aims to promote research, development, innovation, training, modernization and transfer of knowledge in the agricultural, livestock, forestry, environmental, hunting, aquaculture and river fishing.
  • PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Scientific and technical production of knowledge.
    • Consulting and advisory service to the Castilian-La Mancha agri-food, environmental and forestry sector.

    • Vine and Wine Research Center (IVICAM), in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, headquarters of the IRIAF management.
    • Beekeeping and Agro-environmental Research Center (CIAPA) of Marchamalo, Guadalajara.
    • Agro-environmental Research Center (CIAG) “El Chaparrillo”, Ciudad Real.
    • Agroforestry Research Center (CIAF) of Albaladejito, Cuenca.
    • Animal Selection and Reproduction Center (CERSYRA), in Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real.
    • “Dehesón del Encinar” Agricultural Research Center, in Oropesa, Toledo.
    • Viticulture and Enology Station (EVE) in Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real.
