Since 1976, AVASA (Agrupación de Viveristas de Agrios, SA) has provided citrus material of the highest quality and guarantee, within the Spanish certification system. The plant material that AVASA sells is introduced through the Sanitation and Certification Program that is developed at the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research, which certifies the absence of known diseases. AVASA reproduces this material in a valley isolated from the main growing areas, within enclosures equipped with active and passive safety measures that prevent contamination by pathogens. These measures allow the supply of citrus plant material of the highest quality, based on health, authenticity and varietal diversification. Periodically, all materials undergo strict health and varietal controls, both their own and those of the responsible official organizations, complying with the strict Spanish and European Certification Regulations.
AVASA continues to be the largest citrus-based nursery in Spain and the one with the largest number of varieties. It maintains, evaluates, reproduces and markets more than 200 varieties of citrus, including the most important in the world, including more than 90 exclusive AVASA-PRi ® varieties.
