BIOVEGEN report. Cluster 6 «Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment»

Horizon Europe is the future European Union Research and Innovation Framework Program for the period 2021-2027. Horizon Europe has the largest budget so far, being 100 billion euros, in addition to the funds of Next Generation EU and the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. With respect to the previous Programme, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe has news that allow better structuring and simplification of the program. It is structured in three pillars that allow dividing the themes of EU action.

Within this Program, Cluster 6 stands out due to the affinity that its themes show with the activities carried out by the entities of the BIOVEGEN ecosystem. In this sense, we have developed a BIOVEGEN Report on the 2021-2022 Work Program of Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment.

He Cluster 6 is the section of HORIZON EUROPE that addresses topics in line with the agri-food sector, encompassing topics such as food, agriculture, bioeconomy and environment. It has a global budget of €10,000 Million in the period 2021-2027 (approximately 10% the total budget of HORIZON EUROPE).

THE 2021-2022 Work Program contemplates a budget of €1,921.17 Million (€1,020.53 M for 2021, €900.64 M for 2022), The aim is to finance around 300 research and innovation projects and is articulated through seven sub-calls.
