BIOVEGEN report. Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) 2026

Recently the initiative Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE-JU) has published its Annual Work Programme 2026. This new call will allocate 170.7 million euros to boost the circular economy and the development of innovative bio-based solutions in Europe through 13 thematic areas:

• 4 Innovation Actions – Flagship (IA-Flagship): €80 M
• 5 Innovation Actions (IA): €70 M
• 3 Research and Innovation Actions (RIA): €19.5 M
• 1 Coordination and Support Action (CSA): €1.2 M

In line with the circularity objective, this call will finance proposals for the development of products and materials of biological origin that demonstrate environmental sustainability and circularity, prioritizing the transformation of waste into resources and the promotion of local economies to reduce external dependence.
