BIOVEGEN participates in the presentation of the Observatory on the Spanish agri-food sector in the European context. 2019 Report″

BIOVEGEN participated yesterday in the presentation of the “Observatory on the Spanish agri-food sector in the European context. 2019 Report”  which was organized by Cajamar Caja Rural. This report, prepared by the Valencian Institute of Economic Research, is now its third installment and incorporates a series of annexes with specific information on the most relevant subsectors of the agri-food sector.

Among other notable aspects, it jointly quantifies the different productive branches that define the agri-food sector (both primary and the agri-food industry), focusing on the Spanish sector and its European context. It includes a large number of indicators that allow analyzing the agri-food sector in different economic aspects such as its dimension in terms of added value and employment, its growth rate, its productivity and competitiveness, its importance in the foreign sector of the economy, and its effort. investor in R&D. It also addresses and outlines the main challenges and opportunities of the sector, among which sustainability, innovation and consumer trends stand out.
