The II BIB Forum “Bioinformatics and data science for the agriculture of the future” was held

On November 13, 2024, BIOVEGEN participated in the II BIB Forum «Bioinformatics and data science for the agriculture of the future"organized by Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB) and the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) and which brought together more than 100 professionals from the sector.

Within the framework of this event, BIOVEGEN participated as moderator of the round table “New business models: the most promising agrotech start-ups”, which included the participation of representatives from Talkual, Planet Biotech, Enkitek and Rawdata who discussed at length the impact and relevance of bioinformatics in the agri-food sector.

Furthermore, during the round table BIOVEGEN provided a contextualisation of the agrobiotechnological sector, highlighting the main technological trends. In particular, the growing role of bioinformatics was underlined, highlighting its impact in areas such as crop improvement, data integration and analysis, and the development of computational models and statistical simulations applied to different biological systems.
