On April 27, BIOVEGEN held a new meeting of its General Assembly. The meeting continued with the celebration of the Session “New horizons in agriculture and biotechnology” which took place in the Jose María Cuevas room, at the CEOE headquarters, and which brought together more than 100 professionals from 75 entities of the agri-food sector. Furthermore, BIOVEGEN scheduled 65 bilateral meetings between different attendees, favoring science-business collaboration in the agrobiotechnology sector.

The meeting highlighted the positioning of the agrobiotechnology sector as a strategic lever to address the productive and environmental challenges of agri-food and achieve safer, sustainable and resilient production. Thus, the international leadership situation of the Spanish agrobiotechnology sector was shown, a consequence of scientific and technological efforts (both public and private) and the application of different biotechnological techniques to agriculture, such as genetic improvement or the use of microorganisms for development. of new bioinputs.
