GO FITONET Day held: «Traditional varieties of tomato and melon. Origin and current potential. »

On July 18, 2024, the Cajamar Foundation facilities in Paiporta (Valencia) held the GO FITONET Conference: «Traditional varieties of tomato and melon: Origin and current potential.» During the event, researchers from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants (IBMCP-UPV-CSIC) presented the origin and development of traditional varieties of melon and tomato of high organoleptic quality, with the aim of promote its cultivation and consumption. Precisely in relation to the latter, during the day the commercialization of these varieties was also discussed and attendees were allowed to participate in a tasting of the FITONET selection of traditional melon and tomato varieties.
