Biovegen participates in the XII SECIVTV Meeting

Program

BIOVEGEN participated in the “XII Meeting of the Spanish Society for In Vitro Culture of Plant Tissues (SECIVTV)” that took place in Madrid on September 13, 14 and 15, 2017. The event was jointly organized by the Center for Biological Research from the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CIB-CSIC) and the Higher Technical School of Agronomic, Food and Biosystems Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSIAAB-UPM).

The meeting was dedicated to the most current topics in plant in vitro culture research, through plenary conferences, oral scientific sessions and posters. It was aimed at all those interested in the in vitro cultivation of plants, scientists, companies, young researchers, etc.

BIOVEGEN participated in the special session “Science and business, the challenge of transferring knowledge to the productive sector” that took place on Friday, September 15 at 9:00 a.m. and in which the importance of plant biotechnology and technology transfer activities in the private sector. Companies in the sector with activities related to in vitro cultivation participated in it. During the Roundtable, the importance of promoting Science-Business connection activities and the need to promote R&D financing in plant production was highlighted, both with greater public investment and with financing programs more appropriate to the characteristics of the sector and that stimulate innovation in the private sector by mobilizing business investment.
