Adhesion of BIOVEGEN to the AseBio Manifesto for biotechnology and life sciences
Last Thursday AseBio celebrated its 20 years of existence at an event in which biotechnology was valued as a fundamental tool to face social and environmental challenges. After very complicated years for the science and innovation system, it is the
time to put biotechnology and life sciences on the social and political agenda; For this reason, last week, the Manifesto for biotechnology and life sciences: A healthier, better fed and more sustainable society.
In the manifesto, in addition to claiming the role that the sector has had in recent years in areas such as health or agri-food, they wanted to make a call with 5 proposals to promote a more sustainable economic model that generates social well-being:
- Social and political trust in science
- Build a vision of the country through science and innovation
- More and better investments in R&D&I
- A Spanish Biotechnology Strategy
- Improve access to society of biotechnological innovations
