X BIOCOMUNICA CONGRESS: Communication in Environmental Biotechnology
November 11, 2024. CNB-CSIC (Madrid)
Climate change and sustainability They affect our lives more and more every day, and we are beginning to get used to using terms like waste recovery, biofuels, biomaterials, bioremediation either agro-food biotechnology. European regulations are beginning to focus on the impact of industrial activity on the environment, promoting, for example, sustainable management of diseases caused by viruses and bacteria in crops, or the use of waste of an industry as raw materials for another.
However, the work does not end here. Public and private institutions must make great strides efforts in communication of these objectives through a strategy that includes cross-cutting values, ethics, regulation, journalism and environmental communication; Meanwhile, in parallel, we are facing the serious problem of misinformation and hoaxes that have proliferated in recent years.
For this reason, the journalists and scientists who are part of the Association of Biotechnology Communicators will dedicate their annual congress to Environmental Biotechnology. This year BioComunica24 will bring together the leading actors in this work, –Biotechnology, sustainability, communication, strategy and business and planetary benefits–, in a single day.
