II MICROCLIMATT Webinar: Microalgae for productive and sustainable agriculture
September 7, 2022
He MICROCLIMATT Operational Group was born in 2020 in the context of the Call for the Execution of Projects of General Interest by Operational Groups of the European Innovation Association in terms of agricultural productivity and sustainability.
GO MICROCLIMATT aims to test the efficacy of microalgae biostimulants, through demonstrative trials (phenotypic, physiological and transcriptomic), in the fight against the effects of climate change on wheat and tomato. This objective will be achieved through:
- The demonstration of increased carbon fixation in the soils and plant biomass of crops treated with the proposed biostimulant solutions, associated with the increase in crop productivity, and the verification of the improvement in soil quality.
- The analysis of the mechanisms that induce an improvement in the resistance of the crops treated water stress situations (less availability of water), thanks to the use of biostimulant solutions.
- Determining the validity of the proposed solutions for the purposes of reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, which degrade, erode and contaminate soils and aquifers.
In this context, the next September 7, 2022 the second will be held MICROCLIMATT Webinar: Microalgae for productive and sustainable agriculture, with limited capacity, which will be dedicated to presenting the objectives and activities of this innovative project.
