BIOVEGEN joins the Advisory Board of the European BioBridges project

BIOVEGEN has recently joined the Advisory board of the European BioBridges project. The BioBridges project aims to respond to the challenge of improving the marketing of bio-based products (BBP) by promoting close cooperation and partnership between bio-based industries, brand owners and consumer representatives.

BioBridges also wants to involve other interested parties, such as communities and local authorities and other industrial actors, in these alliances between bioindustries, brand owners and consumer representatives, in order to establish avenues of collaboration that promote commercialization and entry into the bioproducts market. We also seek to facilitate interconnections in the sector and the creation of synergies.

Through Biobridges, methodologies, procedures and good practices are designed and implemented that support the co-creation of new intersectoral associations. The main challenges of the project are:

  • Assess the level of cooperation and mutual learning between producers of organic products (industry and brand owners) and consumers (citizens) and identify key factors that hinder this cooperation.
  • Identify good practices on how to improve this cooperation and ensure the active participation of all interested parties in the design of biological products.
  • Identify the sectors of greatest relevance to the bioeconomy, which demonstrate the greatest potential for cooperation for the generation of new value chains and for the improvement of existing value chains.

The project's Advisory Board is a consultation mechanism made up of external experts from different fields of the bioeconomy, whose objective is to improve collaboration between actors in the value chain and promote the development and marketability of products of biological origin. These experts complement the efforts of BioBridges partners.
