What is an Operational Group?
An Operational Group (OG) is a group of actors with different profiles, such as farmers, researchers, universities, etc. to be able to jointly address a specific problem or opportunity from a multi-sector approach.
PISTACIA Operational Group
The PISTACIA Operational Group has been formed to promote the cultivation of pistachio in Spain as a highly profitable, competitive and sustainable alternative through the transfer of knowledge and technology directly to the farmer and the technician.
Specific objectives
- Make up an Operational Group for the Sustainable and Quality Production of Pistachio in Spain.
- Provide of a global diagnosis of the pistachio producing sector.
- Provide of affordable tools in terms of cost for:
- Identification of rootstocks and varieties of pistachio.
- Consult quality agroclimatic information to evaluate the suitability of pistachio cultivation at the plot level.
- TRANSFER to farmers and technicians:
- Knowledge and experience related to good agricultural practices for quality production of pistachio.
- Technology available for identification of rootstocks and varieties and consulting agroclimatic information in the different geographical areas of Spain.
- To announce the PISTACIA Operational Group and its objectives.
