MEICOM project, crossing borders in agriculture. Monica Pradillo. Complutense University of Madrid (UCM)

Monica Pradillo

Graduate in Biology with a mention in Genetics from the Complutense University of Madrid. After enjoying a scholarship to pursue a doctorate (2004), I had a contract as an Assistant Professor, and I am currently a Contract Professor with a PhD in the Department of Genetics, Physiology and Microbiology of the Complutense University of Madrid. This position allows me to combine teaching and research tasks. I have participated in five Spanish and four European research projects, which has allowed me to maintain synergistic interactions through collaborative research and training networks. My research has focused mainly on the study of meiosis, a cell division essential for the formation of pollen.

HybRice: new biotechnological strategies for obtaining rice hybrids. Cristina Ferrándiz. Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants – IBMCP (CSIC-UPV)

Cristina Ferrándiz

CSIC researcher since 2002. I lead a group focused on the study of genetic circuits related to different aspects of reproductive development in plants. Much of our research has a character of generating basic knowledge and is financed by national, regional and European programs, but we also seek the transfer of this knowledge to the productive sector and innovation.
