PUBLIC CONSULTATION on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in third countries
The European Commission is conducting a public consultation on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights in third countries. The main objective of this consultation is to identify those countries in which the protection of these rights gives rise to greater concern, and thereby update the list of so-called “priority countries”.
This consultation will be one of the tools that will be used to improve the intellectual property rights system in third countries and will help the European Commission to focus its efforts and resources on the countries and on the specific areas of greatest concern. In addition, the results of the consultation will also help holders to become aware of the risks to their IP when engaging in commercial activities with these countries and to make decisions to protect it.
For its part, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), with which BIOVEGEN collaborates, is compiling the contributions received in relation to this public consultation in a draft that will be made available to BusinessEurope.
