BIOVEGEN Report. First Call for Agriculture Of Data (AgDATA)

The call Agriculture of Data: Call 1 This initiative, part of the European Partnership AgData program under Horizon Europe, falls within the area of "Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment." At the national level, the call for proposals is co-financed by the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), which supports research centers and universities, and the CDTI (Center for the Development of Industrial Technology), which co-finances for-profit institutions conducting R&D in this field. The call is co-financed under the umbrella of the Spanish National Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2024-2027.

Key aspects of the call:

  • Total budget of 300 million euros: 30% funded by Horizon Europe and 70% funded by partnership partners.
  • National budget through subsidies: 
    • AEI: total budget €1,000,000
    • CDTI: total budget €500,000
  • Project duration: with a maximum of 3 years, starting in 2027.
  • Application deadline: sending the pre-proposalbefore January 21, 2026.
  • Topics:  
    • Topic 1: Technologies and data management. Development of robust artificial intelligence models, promoting interoperability, exchange and processing of FAIR data (Identifiable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable).
    • Topic 2: Data-driven solutions for sustainable agriculture. Strengthening the capacity to adapt to climate change and improving decision-making and the performance of agricultural systems.
    • Topic 3: Data-driven solutions for policymaking. Development of indicators and analytical tools to assess the impact of policies, in particular the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
