BIOVEGEN participates in the conference "A Decade of Innovative Projects from Operational Groups"

On April 10, 2025, BIOVEGEN participated in the conference "A decade of innovative projects from the Operational Groups", an event organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Operational Groups Call, a key tool for promoting innovation and modernization in rural areas.

In this line, since the approval of the National Rural Development Plan in 2015, Spain has played a prominent role in the innovation of the agri-food sector through the Operational Groups, with the creation of 177 operational groups and the financing of 123 innovative projects in the period 2014-2022, with a total investment of 155 million euros. These data place Spain as the leader in the European Union in number of initiatives, representing the 20% of EU-supported projects.

During the day, several success stories arising from this call were presented. Specifically, Operational Groups RETA, SMARTOM, SUBALMA, REBO2VINO and CARBOGAN presented their innovative initiatives., aimed at meeting the needs of the agri-food, forestry, and rural sectors. In addition, the imminent opening of the Call 2025 for the financing of new Operational Groups, which will have a budget of 46 million euros.
