On March 31, 2025, the "1st GO BIODIF WEBINAR: Biofunctionalization of strategic crops to improve their market competitiveness", an event dedicated to the presentation of this innovative project and its members.
During the day, which included more than 65 participants Throughout the event, the main objectives of BIODIF were presented. This innovative initiative seeks to biofunctionalize strategic national crops such as tomatoes, corn, and olives using nanotechnology to improve their market competitiveness.
In addition, project members They presented the lines of work which will be developed in the coming months, addressing key aspects such as the identification of healthy/target compounds from a nutritional perspective, the selection of genetic material, the establishment of protocols for biofunctionalization, the analysis of the impact of nanofertilizers, nutritional labeling, and the economic and sensitivity analysis of producers and cooperatives.
The webinar concluded with the intervention of the Simbioliva Operational Group, an initiative that originates from the Call for Operational Groups 2023 and seeks to promote a strategy of circular economy in olive groves, focused on the management of olive oil.
