The IX National Biotechnology Award Award Ceremony held
On February 16, the Presentation Ceremony of the IX National Biotechnology Award took place. This award, in whose jury BIOEVEGEN participated, is coordinated by ISDE, at whose headquarters the meeting was held. In this edition, the winner was the virologist Luis Enjuanes, head of the Coronavirus laboratory of the National Biotechnology Center (CNB-CSIC). This award is a recognition of his work in relation to biotechnology and his role in science in our country, due to his close involvement in the development of COVID-19 vaccines.
Dr. Enjuanes shared the following reflections during the event: “It is not worth getting involved in a project if it is not important, innovative and good, so as not to disappoint you. This will help you in the hardest moments of the investigation.” “If you only stick to one type of field, you won't get far, you have to combine fields. “When you combine, you cross barriers.”
