It is created with the double purpose of:<ul><li>Contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural, forestry and environmental sectors through the Knowledge-Based Bio-Economy (KBBE).<\/li><li>Increase the competitiveness of research and production in these areas.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:<\/strong><ul><li>Generation of knowledge in genomics and biotechnology of plants and the organisms that interact with them.<\/li><li>Development of new technologies and functional analysis instruments.<\/li><li>Development of new products and processes of interest to the productive sectors.<\/li><li>Transmission of information and development of educational programs for scientists and technicians.<\/li><li>Educational role for training Bachelor&#039;s, Master&#039;s and Doctorate students and R&amp;D&amp;I technicians and scientists.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"oculto wp-block-list\"><li><strong>FACILITIES:<\/strong>\u00a0scientific-technological services offered to companies and other entities <em><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbgp.upm.es\/index.php\/es\/servicios\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see services)<\/a><\/em><\/li><li><strong>STAFF:<\/strong> 182 researchers\/technicians (43 professors\/staff researchers (UPM\/INIA), 8 Talent Acquisition Program researchers, 52 postdoctoral fellows, 51 PhD students, 28 laboratory technicians), and 14 administration people (8)\/scientific services \/technological (6).<\/li><li><strong>BUDGET:\u00a0<\/strong>25% of the annual R&amp;D&amp;i budget of the CBGP (UPM-INIA) comes from collaborations with companies or private entities.<\/li><li><strong>PROJECTS:<\/strong>\u00a040 active projects financed by the National Plan, H2020, Community of Madrid, Companies, Foundations, etc.<\/li><li><strong>KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER:\u00a0<\/strong><ul><li><strong>3 spin-off companies created<\/strong>:<ul><li>Plant Response Biotech (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.plantresponse.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.plantresponse.com<\/a>)<\/li><li>Genomics4All (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.genomics4all.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.genomics4all.com<\/a>)<\/li><li>\u00a0FAIR Data Systems (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairdata.systems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.fairdata.systems<\/a>)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>3 Licensed Patents and two <em>know-hows<\/em> in
