The sector faces important challenges in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability. Citrus identification, as well as verified and updated information on patterns and varieties, is the main basis of varietal management and planning, and constitutes one of the greatest demands of the citrus industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He <strong>GOCITRUS Operational Group<\/strong>, a consortium of companies and research centers supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, <strong>develops tools based on R&amp;D&amp;I <\/strong>to respond to these demands. GOCITRUS promotes a varietal authentication system based on genomic data and associates it with the development of a decision support tool for appropriate varietal choice. These tools constitute a great opportunity for the innovative and sustainable development of the citrus sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, the next <strong>February 18, 2021 <\/strong>the online seminar will be held&nbsp;<strong>GOCITRUS: promoting innovation in the citrus sector, <\/strong>which will have the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and relevant entities in the sector. In its first phase (corresponding to measure 16.1 of the Call) the project had as its objective the formation of a group of experts to work on the identification and appropriate selection of citrus varieties as a basis for correct varietal and production management and planning. .
