After the celebration of the successful Conference 'IBMCP \u2013 Science and Technology at the Service of Agriculture'<\/strong>, we will continue to deepen the dissemination of the scientific-technological capabilities of the IBMCP, an international reference research center in plant science, to solve the challenges of companies in the agri-food sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason we organize, together with the Institute of Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology<\/strong> (IBMCP \u2013 UPV \u2013 CSIC) and CAJAMAR<\/strong>, a series of webinars in which their technological capabilities in specific subjects will be shown, as well as examples of successful collaboration with the private sector, and giving space to interested companies to convey their demands, to explore avenues for collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Wednesday, January 24, the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) of the European Parliament adopted its position on the European Commission's proposal on  New Genetic Modification Techniques (NGTs)<\/strong>, positioning itself in favor of its regulation and future use on European soil. The use of NGTs can contribute to making our agri-food system more sustainable and resilient through the development of genetically improved plants that are more resistant to climate, diseases or that require less fertilizers or pesticides; in addition to reducing CO2 emissions and reducing food waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will start this series with the webinar 'NGTs as a key tool for sustainable agriculture in the European Union'<\/strong> whose objective is to present the latest technological advances and capabilities in this area of the IBMCP through practical examples and projects developed with companies in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
