BIOVEGEN attends the webinar on Protection of Plant Varieties and tax deductions in varietal improvement projects

Yesterday BIOVEGEN attended the webinar on Protection of Plant Varieties and tax deductions in plant improvement projects. During the meeting, they talked about plant improvement projects, the registration procedure for new plant varieties and the tax benefits for the R&D expenses that these can generate. The event was attended by María del Carmen Díez, a specialist in the registration of plant varieties, who began the presentation by explaining the procedures and requirements for the registration of new plant varieties, and the rights generated by the Plant Variety Title. Next, Pedro Valero, partner of Vector Horizonte and head of Business Development in the area of Tax Incentives for R&D&I, presented different tax deductions for R&D&i in varietal improvement projects. The event ended with the intervention of Manuel Orea, Tax Inspector and member of the General Subdirectorate of Organization and Legal Assistance of the Tax Agency. There are three main tools that taxpayers can use to prove that the activities they have carried out are related to R&D&i: motivated reports issued by the General Subdirectorate of Promotion of Innovation, the binding queries of the General Directorate of Taxes and the prior valuation agreements
