    • Developing of new technological procedures for a flexible and cheaper production.
    • Developing technologies to elaborate "easier products" (ready-to-eat, heat-to-eat...).
    • Bioprocedures and improved separation technolgies for new ingredients.
  • Quality
    • Integration of food quality management systems.
  • Sustainable Production
    • Sustainability of food chain from primary production to end users.
    • Avoiding and reducing food chain losses.
    • Developing new & better techniques infod prduction.
    • Evaluation of Nanotechnologies.
  • Water
    • Water reuse and exploiting agriffod effluent resources.
    • Purification and appreciation of waste water  through new bioprocesses.
  • Residues
    • Full use of organic residues from agrifood industry.
    • Obtention of bioactive products (natural antimicrobials, functionals, etc.) from agrifood industry residues.

Areas of Interest in 2016-17:

  • Active and smart packaging.
  • Food packaging and food safety: impact on product quality.
  • Identification of new materials for food containers & packaging.
  • Packaging as a communication tool in food and beverages insdustry.
  • Internet of Packaging: new resources.

 

Objectives:

  • Promote the generation of knowledge through the cooperation between scientific, technological and industrial agents in order to improve technological capability & competitiveness.
  • Identificate new developments in food packaging to ensure a longer lifetime.
  • Identificate R&D needs.
  • Promote and coordinate R&D consortia participation in national and international programmes.
